PR/EP Home Resilience Assessment

Non-fear-based advice for family preparedness

Is your family concerned about being prepared when a winter storm cuts power for a week, you can’t get to the grocery store, or an unexpected emergency means you have to rely on your own skills and resources for a while?

You don’t have to be obsessed with the idea of collapse or end-of-the-world scenarios in order to want to know that your family will be okay if things get rough for a while.

That’s where the PR/EP (Personal Resilience and Emergency Preparedness) Home Resilience Assessment comes in.

Is this just for preppers?

Not at all. The PR/EP Home Resilience Assessment is for any family who wants the extra security of having “just in case” systems in place. The most common scenario is a weather event that knocks out power. For many households, a longer power outage can mean no ability to cook, store food, charge devices, or keep warm. Being prepared doesn’t have to be about the end of the world or societal collapse. It’s just about developing some real-life security and capability for the people most precious in your life.

Kenton’s friendly, knowledgeable approach will inspire you to build confidence and new skills.

How does it work?

Kenton conducts a home visit where he spends approximately two to three hours looking at your household through the lens of resilience, self-reliance, and emergency preparedness.

Together, we’ll look at what systems you already have developed, where your vulnerabilities are, and what practical changes could make your household more capable.

This isn’t about buying a giant pile of emergency gear. It’s about understanding what you’re already prepared for and what you can do if your current systems fail.

There's no insurance like your own capability

Kenton will help you develop layers of redundancy for each system in your household, from heating to food to water to waste disposal. For the final layer of redundancy, he’ll discuss with you methods to rely on your own skillset and minimal equipment, and give you resources where you can learn to build your skills.

There’s no insurance policy better than knowing you could keep your family safe even if you had no equipment to help you.

You get a fully personalized assessment

Every household is different, so your assessment will be tailored to you. We’ll look at your basic systems, including:

  • Water
  • Food and Cooking
  • Heat and Shelter
  • Power and Communication
  • Sanitation
  • Emergency Planning
  • Practical Skills
  • Resilience and Mindset

What is the process?

The PR/EP Home Resilience Assessement starts with a phone call to discuss what elements of preparedness are most important for your family, and what level of situations you want to be prepared for. Then we’ll schedule your home visit and the actual assessment.

After the visit, you’ll receive a written report identifying:

  • Your household’s strengths
  • Your most important vulnerabilities
  • Priority areas to address
  • Simple improvements you can make right away
  • Skills that would benefit your family
  • Equipment or resources that may be useful
  • Recommended next steps

Your report will help you distinguish between the things that are genuinely important and the things that can wait.

No fear-based shopping list or giant pile of gadgets. Just a practical roadmap for making your household more capable.

I want to my family to be more prepared. Let's do this!

Call or text Kenton at (715) 308-8917 and let him know you’d like to discuss an assessment. Assessments are $349 if you’re within 40 miles of Viroqua (this includes La Crosse and Onalaska).
